DWARAKA SIGHTSEEING

 

On the extreme western tip of the Kathiawar peninsula, Dwarka is one of the most holy Hindu pilgrimage sites and is closely related to the Krishna legend. The exterior of the temple has tall five-storey spire supported by 60 columns. Dwarka is the site of an important festival at Janmashtami which falls in August or September.

GETTING THERE AND AWAY There is a railway line between Dwarka and Jamnagar, 145 km away, and there are trains to Bombay via Rajkot and Ahmedabad. STC buses run to all points in Saurashtra, and to Ahmedabad.
