The footpath from Subhash Chowk to Gandhi Chowk has brightly painted low relief pictures. There is a nice little Tibetan refugee handicrafts shop with carpets whose unusual designs features rabbits and elephants; it is near Gandhi Chowk. With its dense forest, old English houses and colourful Tibetans, Dalhousie can be good place to spend sometime. About 2 km. from Gandhi Chowk along Ajit Singh Road,Panch Pulla (Five Bridges) could be a pleasant spot.Along the way there is a small fresh water spring known as Satdhana.

DALHOUSIE-GETTING THERE AND AWAY

GETTING THERE AND AWAY Pathankot, 80 km away, is the usual departure point for buses to Dalhousie. There are also direct buses to Amritsar, Jammu, Dharamsala (10 hours) and Shimla (15 hours). For Shimla and Dharamsala it is far quicker to catch a bus to back Pathankot, and take another from there. For Chamba there are four buses daily doing the two-hour trip.
