He is the second of the model twins and is the more serious type. His brother is Ajay Balhara who is the extrovert and happy-go-lucky type of a person. A science graduate from Delhi University, Vijay is currently pursuing Law. And next year when he completes it, he will shift his base from Delhi to Mumbai where he feels, he will get many more "professional opportunities".

Vijay is also keen on doing music videos and when asked if he wants to enter Bollywood he says,"noway, that's not my cup of tea". His favourite designer is Rohit Bal, who he says, is very adventurous and liberated in his work. "In fact, he combines creativity with saleability. Each time he does a show, it is completely different, not only in terms of clothes but also in presentation. He sets a trend and everybody follows." That's what he likes. Vijay has done print Ads for Pepsi, Airtel and Snowflake. He has walked the ramp along with his bother in The Lakme India Fashion Show 2002 for a host of fashion designers including Ritu Kumar, Tarun Tahiliani, Aki Narula, Rohit Bal, Rocky S, J J Vallaya and Monisha Bajaj.
