Now into almost retirement from active modelling, Namrata Shirodkar was one of the top choices in early 1990's. She left modelling to join films in which her sister Shilpa Shirodkar was already active. Her grandmother was the first indian woman to wear bikni on celluloid screen.

Namrata was one of the models whom designers still miss and while on ramp, nobody could have missed her. Her presence was electrifying on ramp.

In her active modelling days, she was in top 5 models of her time. I still miss her on ramp. She became a household word when she won Miss India 1993. Later on she was 4th in Miss Universe inspite of her 5' 5" frame.

Namrata was just 15 when she modelled for Garden Saree (a very very prestigious campaign for any model, once a model gets this campaign, she can command any price).

Namrata Shirodkar has bagged quite a few prestigious projects in Bollywood. But she hasn't given any major hit. Her boyfriend is Deepak Shetty with whom she is rumoured to be engaged.
