Michelle Innis was spotted by Tanya, wife of ace lensman Prabhu Das Gupta in Greater Kailash Market of Delhi in 1996. Tanya went upto her and asked if she would like to model. Michelle had said no then. Later on without realising who she was, she called her up and she was invited. She went there just to meet Tanya but found herself in a roomful of gorgeous women - an audition was on. Prabhu chose her over all the other girls though she was not prepared for the audition and they shot the next day for a cigarette campaign.

There were ad campaigns Anand Bazar Patrika, Aristocrat, Srijan, Bizzare, many editorial shoots for different magazines and finally music videos. For her, modelling is a hobby, not an economic necessity. So she refuses to be exploited - model without getting paid. Michelle one of the 48 models who were chosen to participate and walk the ramp at Lakme India fashion week 2002 for a host of fashion designers including Ritu Kumar, Tarun Tahiliani, Aki Narula, Rocky S, J J Vallaya and Monisha Bajaj.
