Rok Sako To Rok Lo
Film: Rok Sako To Rok Lo
Director: Arindham Chaudhuri
Cast: Sunny Deol, Manjari Phadnis, Yash Pandit
Before even beginning to tell what the story is about, my advice is dont even think of watching this film. Debutant director Arindam Chaudhuri should be taught a thing or two about directing. The film is a lousy re-make of Mansoor Khan's Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. The film centers around rivalry between two schools ? Valley High, meant for the high society and Bharti School, meant for the middle class. While Dev (Yash Pandit), Suhana (Manjari Phadnis) and their group of friends come from Bharti School, their enemies Ranbir (Caran Kapur) & Co study in Valley High. And the favourite hangout for both the groups is Café Life run by the pretty Sandra (Namrata Shirodkar). And then begins a series of sports competitions like marathon and go-karting - all of which are won by Ranvir, lawfully or not. Now enter Sanjana (Aparna Kumar), ala Pooja Bedi. In her skimpy outfit, she is first spotted with Ranbir. And for the first time, Dev can?t get his eyes off the girl. By now, if you've seen Jo Jeeta? you can effortlessly predict what next. Dev and Sanjana get and close, dance at a combined school social till one fine day she decides to dump him. After some more dragging on, comes the final marathon race. Ranbir?s friends try beating up Dev, but the hero wins. Now you must be wondering what role does Sunny Deol play. Well, he is just a phantom in the film who keeps popping up now and then. I wonder why was he there in the film. anyway. The narrative pace lacks grace. Editor Rabi Ranjan Maitra needed to use the scissors far more seriously on the material. Perfoormance-wise the new comers have over acted. Music is not good. Overall, it will be a criminal waste of your time to go to watch this crap.
