Director: Pankuj Parasher
Cast: Manoj Bajpai, Isha Koppikar, Nethra Raghuraman, Sharat Saxena and Sushmita Mukherjee
Pankuj Parasher's latest film Inteqam is a thriller involving three main characters, played by Manoj Bajpai, Ishaa Koppikar and Nethra Raghuraman. The film is inspired from the Michael Douglas - Sharon Stone starrer BASIC INSTINCT. Avantika [Isha Koppikar], a celebrated author, returns to her home in India after a gap. Her friend Aditya hosts a Holi party at his mansion and the same night, is found brutally murdered under mysterious circumstances. Uday [Manoj Bajpai], an upright cop, is asked to solve the case. Uday suspects Avantika since she was seen escorting Aditya to his room minutes before he was found murdered. Later, a series of murders takes place, just as in Avantika's novel. Each murder has a sinister connection with the writer. She obviously becomes the prime suspect.
Uday, who is attracted to Avantika, tries to coerce her into accepting the crime but in vain. Director Pankuj Parasher seems to have forgotten that the film is a suspence thriller since there was no suspence in the film at all. You can very well make out who the killer is and the film also takes on two endless hours to reveal the killer. Manoj Bajpai sleep walks through the film. Isha is ok and improves towards the end. Nethra is better this time around. Sharat Saxena is the only humorous element, and does well. On the whole dont waste your time watching this film.
