Cinemascope >> Star Profiles >> Aftab Shivdasani

Aftab is the well-known Farex Baby who does not remember when he faced the camera for the first time. He is the little boy who chipped in as young Amitabh Bachchan, the little kid who became quite an affable figure with films like "Mr India", "Shahenshah", "Insaniyat" and "Chalbaaz". He was first launched as a hero by Ram Gopal Verma in Mast. Ramu liked his innocently boyish and pleasant smile. Though the film had hummable numbers and beautiful cinematography, Mast failed to evoke any masti at the box-office.

Aftab had no work for almost 6 months when Boney Kapoor offered him Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche opposite newcomer Esha Deol. Aftab lapped up the offer. As the film's shooting progressed Aftab Shivdasani gradually began to get other offers amongst which was also Vikram Bhatt's Kasoor. When Kasoor was released his performance was appreciated and liked by the audience as well as the critics. Meanwhile Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche was also released but it failed to create a stir. However he had film assignments of Love Ke Liye Kucch Bhi Karega, Aawara Paagal Deewana, Pyar Ishq Aur Mohabbat etc.

Awara Paagal Deewana clicked at the box office and was declared the biggest hit of 2002. He also played a small role in Ram Gopal Verms's Darna Mana Hai which was highly appreciated. Priyadarshan's Hungama also gave him a hit. Thus Aftab's career is looking very promising.
