" an event organised with prime objective to create
business and to facilitate one-to-one interaction between
designers and buyers in the trade.
Fifteen models sashayed down the ramp displaying three
of the most outstanding outfits from each designer's
two collections - Pret-a-Porter (ready-to-wear) and
Diffusion (a line between ready-to-wear and trousseau/couture).The
objective of the event, says Sumeet Nair, executive
director of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI),
is to create business relationships and to facilitate
a dialogue between designers and trade buyers.
Formed in 1998, FDCI represents business interests of
the designer fraternity across the country. Most of the
designers who had participated in the event last year,
feel that the fashion show offers a good opportunity
to showcase their products under one roof. Designer

designer Monisha Bajaj, says nature's elements which
inspire her, find an expression in her designs.
India's another reknowned designer Rohit Bal says his
"shine" collection projects the wearer's mettle and
comprises intense colours - from gleaming gold to burnished
copper. The 34-year old designer's sense of aesthetics
is finely honed, and each of his creations is handcrafted
to perfection, with meticulous attention to detail.Ashima
and Leena Singh have always had a unique, distinctive
style and an original, traditional appeal in their collections.
Their designs are now well established and reputed today.
From unique and exquisite dresses to the innovative
and futuristic hairstyles-- the fashion week something
for everyone in the audience. Second of its kind organised
